Eric and I spent the weekend in Crested Butte as a “honeymoon” after our wedding a couple weeks back. After a sunrise engagement session (stay tuned for that blog soon!) we were able to relax and enjoy some time together in the mountains. It snowed like crazy on Saturday, but ended the day nicely just in time for the Vinotok festivities. Neither of us had experienced the Vinotok celebration before but we had one of the best weekends ever! Vinotok is a harvest Thanksgiving festival welcoming in the fall. People don aspen leaf crowns and have a big street party, followed by the Trial and the Burning of the Grump with a HUGE bonfire ceremony. I highly recommend googling it as I’m sure there are much more eloquent and informative articles out there haha. Aside from being an awesome time and a fun celebration to experience, Vinotok made for some great photos! Check out all the fun we had:
