Today’s blog is a little bit different. In all honesty the last 10 days have been such a whirlwind in my personal life that I really haven’t had time to sit down and actually make time for my blog. I’ve been doing a lot of behind the scenes work for both the blog and our local western slope wedding magazine the Shop LOCAL Wedding Guide, and those projects paired with the holidays make blogging hard! BUT! As I was thinking about the things that have kept me away from my computer this week, it inspired me to talk candidly today about one of them. I’m so fortunate to be collaborating with the Shop LOCAL Wedding Guide and I’m so passionate about spreading the word about it, so that’s exactly what I’ll be doing today!
Shop LOCAL Wedding Guide
So many people in town I’m finding still have no idea that we have our very own western slope wedding magazine! Not only is it a beautiful production full of inspiration and insight for Grand Junction brides; they are also working on upping the game when it comes to online content too! 2018 is going to see the Shop LOCAL Wedding Guide really grow its roots in the community I think. They’ve brought on some amazing folks to keep up with Facebook, Instagram, a blog, and Youtube — bringing wedding planning inspiration to the community from many places!
The next issue comes out this winter as we come into 2018, just in time for all those couples getting engaged over the holidays! Pick up a copy or check in online to find style boards from local vendors to inspire your vision for the big day, as well as insightful planning tips and interactive content to get you thinking about aspects of your day you might have forgotten! We’ll also be featuring new and awesome wedding venues in the area (which, as you know, is so close to my heart these days!!)
The mission of Shop LOCAL Wedding Guide is to inspire couples on the western slope (and beyond!) to shop locally with our amazing vendors right here at home. Personally I think a lot of the state overlooks the western slope or discounts it when it comes to weddings, favoring the front range and major ski towns like Aspen. I truly can’t think of a better area to get married than the #westslopebestslope though! From Ouray and Telluride, to Glenwood Springs, Gunnison and the Black Canyon… and not to mention the crazy cool diverse backdrops right here in the Grand Valley! We’ve got mountains, deserts, and amazing canyons all right here in our back yard. How awesome is that?!
All of this is essentially to say, check out the Shop LOCAL Wedding Guide online and in print this winter and support our local wedding industry. We’ve got an incredible bunch of vendors right here at home! I’ll be taking time away from the blog over the holidays, but I’m hoping (no promises lol) to get a few more regular posts in before then. Happy wedding planning and remember to spread a little extra kindness and patience this time of year!
