A sewing machine.

That’s what brought Mallory and Gerald together. In a real-life fairy tale, Mallory was getting ready to go to the Rainbow Prom, an annual event here in Grand Junction, when all of a sudden — wardrobe malfunction. Gerald pulled up to the place Mallory happened to be getting ready. When he heard about her issue, it was fate. Gerald just so happened to have his sewing machine in the trunk of his car! After he saved the day, Mallory ended up asking Gerald to the Prom… and the rest is history.

The two were married in Mallory’s home town of Nucla (down near Telluride) at an intimate ceremony at her home church and practically the entire town celebrated their marriage at the reception at her parents’ home. We incorporated an antique sewing machine into their first look to commemorate how the two got together! The wedding day was draped in orange and teal details and burlap and lace accents. We were able to take bridal portraits at an estate nearby that had a century-old horse carriage and white horses in the background. It was a simply stunning set-up for their fairy tale wedding day!

Check out some of my favorite moments from the big day:
