Another Wednesday another Western Slope Wedding Venues highlight coming at ya! This week I wanted to raise up a less conventional wedding venue that has so much to offer! Colorado Mesa University might not be the first venue you think of, but if you’re looking for convenience, have a large number of guests, and want a customizable space look no further!

Colorado Mesa University | Western Slope Wedding Venues | amanda.matilda.photographyCMU has spaces for both large celebrations, outdoor ceremonies, and intimate weddings as well. Their meeting room 213 holds up to 50 or 60 guests and even has a terrace you can get married on if you want that outdoor ceremony with a view! There is so much you can do with the space and it’s a nice option for your smaller weddings.

Colorado Mesa University | Western Slope Wedding Venues | amanda.matilda.photographyFor larger celebrations CMU offers a few different spaces you can use or combine to your needs! The main ballroom is probably the most obvious and well-known space for events at CMU. They are willing to work with you on the layout of the room and can walk you through the best setups they’ve seen. The ballroom, especially when combined with the lounge, can hold up to or over 200 guests, making this space one of the largest here in Grand Junction!

It is such a versatile area that you can truly customize it to whatever best fits your wedding. The terrace outside the lounge is a beautiful modern, slightly more urban backdrop that I truly love! With views of the Monument on the horizon and the amazing architecture of the CMU campus all around, there are a number of ways you can adapt this space to perfectly fit your vision for an outdoor ceremony. Colorado Mesa University | Western Slope Wedding Venues | amanda.matilda.photography

Since it is CMU, any weddings held within the University Center will be catered solely by Sodexo, one of the best caterers in town! I definitely view this as one of the top perks of holding your wedding here. Sodexo truly are the best and most flexible caterer I’ve seen at weddings, with such a wide variety of meal options. Any weddings booked on campus outside the UC are welcome to use a caterer of your choice as well.

Colorado Mesa University | Western Slope Wedding Venues | amanda.matilda.photographyIf you’re looking to book your wedding at Colorado Mesa University, you can expect to spend between $400-$1,800 for the rental of space depending on which space(s) you desire. Sodexo holds the liquor license for the University Center as well so alcohol can easily be accommodated through them. With a party of 100 or more, you are required to have security guards present.

Wedding at Colorado Mesa University Grand Junction | amanda.matilda.photographyI know I’ve already talked about the unique and versatile spaces, but also keep in mind a few other things that really set CMU apart as a venue. With separate bride and groom spaces right on site for getting ready, and multiple routes to get to your ceremony, they make it easy to ensure you won’t see each other before the aisle if you don’t want to! Plus a large parking garage with access right to the event spaces, all audio-visual on hand, and all your chairs and tables included in rental prices, they really take care of the details. Pipe and drape are available as well!
